1. Explore mindfulness practices!
Mindfulness...
“A mental state achieved by focusing one's awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one's feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations.”
Learning to accept your emotions without judgement is an important first step. Without judgement and with acceptance, we are able to relish in joy as well as allow painful moments to pass.
Take time in the new year to really begin the explore the concept as well as the practices!
2. Check your values!
Ask yourself if what you value is present in your day to day life and within your relationships. Make a list, ask yourself what you can add or do differently to facilitate alignment!
3. Move away from Judgement and towards Empathy!
Try not to ask why and instead ask what. What would I like to be different, what am I willing to do, what help do I need? Moving away from judgement of yourself and others opens the door for change. Judgement closes the door and lead to empowers shame.
4. Be Kind and try your hardest.
Sometimes the lessons from Kindergarten are the most important!
Happy New Year!
